Louise Emma Academy of Dance (LEAOD) is based on the beautiful Waiheke Island. The Academy aims to offer a high standard of discipline and training of technical dance in a friendly fun environment. The pupils are taught important skills to become a great dancer and they learn that through hard work and determination they can achieve their best. Commitment, communication skills, passion, perseverance, the ability to take and respond to constructive criticism are just a few of the life skills learnt at LEAOD. Whether a child is looking to dance as a hobby or to persue a performing career it is hoped that LEAOD will be able to offer them the best possible training and experience and teach them valuable lessons that they can apply to their future paths.
Louise Emma Academy of Dance offers classes in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Limbering and Conditioning for children aged 3 years right through to adults and pupils get the opportunity to work their way through their chosen subjects. Ballet, Modern and Tap are all syllabus based classes. For Ballet we follow the R.A.D Syllabus (Royal Academy Of Dance) and Modern and Tap, the I.S.T.D syllabus (Imperial Society of Teachers Of Dancing). Both the R.A.D and the I.S.T.D come and hold exams at the schools offering their syllabus. Pupils showing great potential, abilty and are ready to be examined at this point may get the opportunity to take exams for these subjects. Jazz, Contemporary, Stretch and Tecnhique are Non Syllabus classes but follow a stuctured class set by the teacher.
